My goal at Sew with Michelle is to provide all of our students, children, and adults, with a fun sewing education! You or your child will be learning with professional equipment such as sewing machines and irons (ironing only for ages 12+). Use of this equipment is monitored at all times, and proper safety methods are taught without fail. For the safety of you or your children and others please review the following policies regarding enrollment.  Please understand that I make no exceptions to the following conditions:

  1.  Participation in all sewing classes is solely at the risk of the person registering or the parent or guardian enrolling the child.

  2.  Due to the potentially dangerous nature of sewing equipment and tools, it is the responsibility of the registering parent or guardian to ensure the proper placement of the child with regard to the child's skill level. I can not accept liability for any injury or damages that any student may suffer related to participation in activities in my sewing classes or workshops. Every effort will be made by me and any potential staff to ensure the safety of everyone while on the premises.

  3. Please inform me if there are any learning difficulties or physical limitations so that I can accommodate them accordingly.

  4.  If an emergency or illness occurs while on my premises and myself or my staff determines that the situation is life-threatening or otherwise potentially hazardous to you or your child, your or your child’s health, or any property, we may escort you or the child from the premises of my home. We may at that time request any personal or professional assistance that is deemed necessary to protect the safety and wellness of you or a child.

  5.  I will not administer any medication to any child. If the child has a pre-existing condition requiring or a need for prescribed medication, please ensure that these needs are met either prior to or after the day's session.

  6. If your child has allergies, please let Michelle know in advance. Sometimes during a difficult or long project, I will bring out a light snack to help with focus and/or give a short break.

  7.  If your child has allergies that require an EpiPen, please make sure that the Epipen is with the child at all times and that Michelle is aware of the allergy and possible need for Epi.

  8.  For the welfare of everyone, if you or your child is sick on a class day, PLEASE STAY HOME for the day. Every effort will be made to provide you or your child with the missed day’s activities. Please call to make arrangements for a makeup session.

  9.  Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the class so that we can start class on time.

  10. Please understand with children, sometimes a class will last longer than expected.

It's very difficult to estimate time with kids.  Sometimes they sew the wrong place, we need to

take it out and redo it.  The thread breaks, and they like to "re-do" it themselves, It takes a painfully long time, lol. Sometimes they break into a random story that is very important to them, I try to re-focus as much as possible, but sometimes it's tough. Especially with multiple kids.
Lots of little things can happen that take longer than expected.
I PREFER TO BE PATIENT WITH THEM AND LET THEM GAIN CONFIDENCE INSTEAD OF RUSHING THEM.
My cell # is 508-641-2464. Please feel free to check in via text at any point or before heading back for pick-up.
I know this can be difficult for busy parents. If finished early, we can let you know. If you can't get here for a little while, it's perfectly fine. I'd prefer to find something to entertain your child for a little while than to have you sit and wait here for us to finish. I know life is busy.
Thanks for understanding!
